Using the Agreement Habit and Plausibility to Improve the Hypnotic Suggestions and Their Impact

The Agreement Tactics in the conversational hypnosis are extremely functional and this is for two main reasons. The first of these reasons is that using Agreement Tactics will help you manage the Critical Factor in the subject’s mind. The factor will go to sleep. The Critical Factor is the one that tells the subject if a certain thing can be trusted or not.
Your suggestions will not work if you do not get pass the critical factor. A good trance can not be induced without putting the Critical Factor to sleep. And this is the second reason. If the Critical Factor is off, then whatever suggestions you will make, they will appear real to the other person, they will seem believable. The subject will then agree with you and lend you the authority.
The Agreement Tactics are four and their purpose is to build in the subject’s mind, an agreement factor. You will open up the subject’s mind and he will agree with you and what you are saying. We have previously said that there are 3 Agreement Tactics and they include:
Plausibility, The Agreement Habit, “Yes Sets”.
In this article we will explore them. We said that the first is Plausibility.
This represents getting a person to be in agreement with what you are saying in a repeated way. You are repeating what you want the other person to believe so that you can induce the idea of truth. As long as your argument is plausible, the person will believe it. This tactic will put the Critical Factor to sleep and this is why agreement comes easier. At the same time, the listener is concentrated on the conversation flow and he will not disagree or interrupt the conversation.
Your purpose is to keep the Critical Factor off as much as you can. While the Critical Factor is off, what you say is plausible. But when you are getting the person into the trance state, the plausibility is not required and the subject will agree with your truth. Here is also the time to use the Signal Recognition skills you have and count how much of the Critical Factor of your subject is in its place. Always remember that even if the person is awake, that doesn’t mean the critical factor is too.
The second Agreement Tactic is the Agreement Habit and it is quite important and based on the “go first” concept. This concept means creating a reality where you, the hypnotist, are emerging yourself first and then the subject. In this tactic you have to create a pace and your subject will have to be able to follow that and be in complete agreement. The brain will receive an agreement pattern and even if they do not agree with the whole statement, they will not be in disagreement.
The Agreement Habit Principle is a big part of the Agreement Habit and deals with positive reinforcement. This also has both positive and negative effects. For example, when you are reinforcing a positive behavior it can grow just like a negative behavior would grow and that can be counterproductive.
In the Agreement Habit you have to give a response to positive things and do not respond to the negative things. Your responding way would have to be a nodding, a smile or a verbal ‘yes’. When you disagree, you give absolutely no response.
When responding to positive things, you will give birth to other positive reinforcements and make the person feel positive. Also, because people like to get a response, the fact that you are responding to positive things, will boost your agreement with the subject. Access State Principal is another form of responding to positive things and this represents changing moods and influencing all the exhibited behaviors.
